Pinot Noir 2006

Winemaker’s Notes:
The grapes were predominantly grown in the cooler Upper Yarra Valley along with select vineyards in the Coldstream area on the Yarra Valley floor.

A warm growing season is reflected in the high degree of color and extract obtained, with the fruit being harvested at a point that maintained a higher natural acidity and purity of varietal flavor. A combination of Pinot Noir clones was used in the final blend to add another dimension of complexity.

Color: Bright red with a purple hue.
Nose: Brimming with aromas of dark cherry, plum and raspberry with hints of cedar and cinnamon spice.
Palate: Juicy plum and dark berries character. The structure is fine with silky texture and seductive velvety tannins creating a wine with elegance, yet layered with complexity.

Technical Information:
Appellation: Yarra Valley
Alcohol: 13.5%
Cellaring: 9 months in French barriques and hogsheads

Magaret River

Since its inception in 1978, Oakridge has been making wine in the Yarra Valley and throughout that time has been dedicated to producing some of the finest examples
of cool climate wine styles seen in Australia. The Yarra Valley's cool climate provides a long ripening period which produces wines of intense varietal flavor, finesse and elegance, wines that when consumed young have immediate appeal but will age gracefully with careful cellaring.
